Body temperature guns, usually referring to non-contact infrared temperature measurement devices, are mainly divided into the following two categories based on the measurement site and purpose:

Infrared forehead thermometer: estimates body temperature by detecting infrared radiation on the surface of the forehead skin, suitable for rapid screening in public places such as airports, schools, hospital entrances, etc.

The advantage is non-contact and fast (about 1 second), but it is easily affected by factors such as environmental temperature, sweating, and measurement distance, resulting in relatively low accuracy.

Infrared Ear Temperature Gun (Ear Temperature Meter): It measures the infrared radiation emitted by the eardrum in the ear canal to obtain body temperature, reflecting the core temperature of the human body. It has high accuracy and is suitable for infants, young children, and daily household use.

But it is necessary to ensure that the ear canal is clean and the probe is aligned correctly, otherwise errors may occur.
